Hamm Applauds Grant to Local VFW Riders

HARRISBURG – Rep. Joe Hamm (R-Lycoming/Sullivan) today announced a $40,000 grant has been awarded to the VFW Riders Group District 15 in Muncy to help the organization continue meeting its mission to support the region’s veterans.

The funding will be used to provide veterans in need with resources and direct aid, including home repair and food assistance.

“Just as our region has been blessed by the service of our veterans, we are equally blessed by organizations like the Riders Group for their commitment to ensuring the men and women who sacrificed so much for us get the help and support they need,” Hamm said. “This grant is a worthwhile investment in giving something back to our veterans.”

The funding was awarded as part of more than $1 million in grants statewide provided through the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs’ (DMVA) Veterans’ Trust Fund (VTF). Grants were awarded to more than a dozen county Veterans Affairs departments, along with two dozen nonprofit organizations serving the Commonwealth’s veterans.

Since the VTF grant program began in 2013, a total of more than $8.5 million has been awarded to organizations that serve Pennsylvania veterans.
