Hamm To Host Public Town Hall About Rose Valley Lake Dam Project

April 14, 2026

MONTOURSVILLE - Representative Joe Hamm (R – Lycoming/Sullivan) is pleased to announce he is hosting a Public Town Hall with the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission regarding the upcoming Dam Project scheduled for Rose Valley Lake.

This free event is open to the public and will take place April 30 at 6:30 p.m. at the Eldred Township Volunteer Fire Company Social Hall. The address is 5556 Warrensville Road, Montoursville, PA 17754. The $5 million project will include rehabilitation of the dam embankment and spillway to meet PA Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) dam safety standards.

“I have heard from many constituents about the Dam Project at Rose Valley Lake,” Hamm said. “I believe it is important that the anglers, boaters, and users of the lake have their questions answered and hear directly from the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission about their plans for Rose Valley Lake before, during, and after the Dam Project.”

Once construction begins, the project is expected to last approximately a year and a half. The purpose of the meeting is to have Fish & Boat Leadership, Habitat Management, and Engineering staff provide an update on this project. There will be sufficient time for Questions and Answers so everyone can get specific responses about the project directly from the Fish & Boat Commission.

Last year, the Fish & Boat Commission lifted all seasons, sizes, and creel limit restrictions at Rose Valley Lake in anticipation of the lake drawdown. The temporary regulations will remain posted on signage around Rose Valley Lake and remain in place until further notice.
